What about my privacy? What if I don't want my accountability partner reading all my chats, emails, and text messages?

Turn on text redaction which will black out most words in the screenshots. You could also apply a slight blur to the screenshots as well.

Is there anyone that can help me setup Truple?

Yes! Just email me at cam@truple.io and I'll walk you through the process.

Can I hide the Truple notification icon?

Yes you can. To see how, please visit our blog post which describes the steps to hide the icon.

Can I have my screenshots emailed to someone?

Yes you can! Once you've signed up, just visit app.truple.io/emails to add email recipients.

Why does Truple want to be a device administrator on my android device?

Truple can optionally run the monitoring service as a device administrator. This allows the Truple app to know when someone is trying to uninstall Truple.

This does NOT grant Truple access to additional content on your phone in anyway. It does NOT give Truple, or any Truple employee access to your device in anyway.

Is Truple secure?

Yes! Truple is secure!

However, the most likely way for an unauthorized user to gain access to your Truple account and screenshots is through you or your email recipients email accounts.

It's important that all Truple account holders as well as email recipients keep their email accounts secure. We STRONGLY recommend using multi-factor authentication (MFA) on your email accounts. For gmail accounts, see Google's instructions for implementing MFA.

How does Truple implement security?

Truple uses HTTPS for all communication.

All screenshots are stored using their own 256 bit AES key automatically managed by AWS.

"Server-side encryption with Amazon S3-managed encryption keys (SSE-S3) employs strong multi-factor encryption. Amazon S3 encrypts each object with a unique key. As an additional safeguard, it encrypts the key itself with a master key that it regularly rotates. Amazon S3 server-side encryption uses one of the strongest block ciphers available, 256-bit Advanced Encryption Standard (AES-256), to encrypt your data." (http://docs.aws.amazon.com/AmazonS3/latest/dev/UsingServerSideEncryption.html)

Will Truple capture personal information like bank account numbers, etc. in the screenshots?

Yes and no. Banking apps on Android can use a secure flag that prevents anyone (even yourself) from capturing a screenshot of it. For apps like this, the screenshots will simply show a black area. To test if your banking app uses this flag, simply try to take a screenshot. If the app uses the secure flag, you will see a message saying the screenshot was prohibited.

Is Truple tamper proof?

Truple is the most tamper proof product for the android platform that we are aware of that doesn't require rooting your device. We will continue to do all we can to keep Truple as tamper proof as possible. However a determined individual with the right technical abilities can probably find a way to bypass it. If you or one of your loved ones finds a loophole, please let us know.

Will Truple capture social media content like Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, etc.?

Yes! All of it!

Will Truple capture text messages, WhatsApp messages, etc.?

Yes!

Why do I see a black box for the screenshot when I view Netflix or another site's copyrighted content?

Apps like Netflix use a secure flag to prevent people from illegally copying their videos. This results in the Truple screenshot only showing a black box where the video actually is on the screen.

Why does Google Play prevent me from watching videos when Truple monitoring is enabled?

Unfortunately Google Play prevents playback once a screen capturing app is running. This means you cannot view video content through Google Play. Currently there is no work around for this. If you absolutely need to view the content, make your accountability partners aware of what you're doing then disable Truple monitoring for the duration of the video.

Do I have to pay for an additional device just to view the screenshots?

No! You only pay for monitored devices.

Should the accountability partner create the Truple account or the individual wanting to stay accountable?

Either one! However if the accountability partner creates the account, then there is no way the account could be cancelled without them being aware.
